4.1 Academic Integrity

Important Notice: Step2Solve is designed as a learning tool to help you understand mathematical concepts through step-by-step explanations. It is NOT intended to enable cheating or academic dishonesty.

You are responsible for complying with your school's or institution's academic integrity policies. Using Step2Solveto complete assignments without understanding the material, or to cheat on exams, violates both this agreement and your institution's honor code.

Recommended Use: Use Step2Solve to check your work, understand solution methods, and learn concepts—not to copy answers without comprehension.

4.3 Your Content and Input

When you submit mathematical problems to Step2Solve, you retain ownership of that input. However, by submitting input, you grant us a limited license to process it through our AI services (Google Gemini) to provide you with solutions. We do not store your problems permanently (see our Privacy Policy for details).

5. Intellectual Property Rights

5.1 Our Intellectual Property

All Content, features, functionality, and materials available through Step2Solve (including but not limited to software code, user interface design, graphics, logos, text, and algorithms) are the exclusive property of Step2Solve or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws.

5.2 Trademarks

"Step2Solve", the Step2Solve logo, and any other product or service names, logos, or slogans that may appear on the Service are trademarks of Step2Solve and may not be copied, imitated, or used (in whole or in part) without our prior written consent.

5.3 Third-Party Intellectual Property

Step2Solve uses third-party services (such as Google AI/Gemini) that are subject to their own intellectual property rights. All third-party trademarks, service marks, logos, and trade names mentioned in the Service are the property of their respective owners.

5.4 AI-Generated Solutions

Solutions generated by Step2Solve are created using artificial intelligence (Google's Gemini model). While you may use these solutions for personal learning, you acknowledge that:

  • • AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright protection under current law
  • • Solutions are provided for educational purposes and may contain errors (see Section 6)
  • • You should verify solutions independently before relying on them for critical purposes
6. Accuracy of Solutions and Educational Disclaimer

⚠️ IMPORTANT - READ CAREFULLY

Step2Solve uses advanced artificial intelligence to solve mathematical problems. While we strive for accuracy, AI systems are not perfect and can make mistakes.

6.1 No Guarantee of Accuracy

We do NOT guarantee that solutions provided by Step2Solve are 100% accurate, complete, or error-free. Solutions are generated by AI and should be treated as educational guidance, not definitive answers.

  • • AI may misinterpret complex or ambiguously stated problems
  • • Solutions may contain computational errors or logical flaws
  • • Explanations may not cover all edge cases or alternative methods
  • • Notation, formatting, or terminology may vary from your textbook or curriculum

6.2 Verification Responsibility

YOU are responsible for verifying solutions independently. Always:

  • • Check your work manually
  • • Consult textbooks, teachers, or other authoritative sources
  • • Understand the methodology, not just copy the answer
  • • Use critical thinking to evaluate whether solutions make sense

6.3 Educational Purpose Only

Step2Solve is a supplementary learning tool, NOT a substitute for:

  • • Professional mathematical advice or tutoring
  • • Academic instruction from qualified educators
  • • Critical calculations in engineering, science, finance, or other professional contexts
  • • Homework completion without understanding (which violates academic integrity)

Do NOT rely on Step2Solve for:

  • • Medical calculations
  • • Safety-critical engineering computations
  • • Financial or legal decisions
  • • Any situation where errors could result in harm, loss, or liability
7. Prohibited Uses and Activities

8.2 Third-Party Services

Step2Solve relies on third-party services (Google AI/Gemini, Vercel hosting). We are not responsible for the performance, availability, accuracy, or reliability of these third-party services. Any issues with third-party services are subject to their own terms and conditions.

Step2Solve does NOT provide professional mathematical, educational, financial, medical, legal, or any other form of professional advice. Solutions are generated by AI for educational purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for professional consultation.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL STEP2SOLVE, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

We are NOT liable for damages including, but not limited to:

  • • Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
  • • Loss of data or information
  • • Academic consequences (e.g., failing grades, honor code violations)
  • • Costs of substitute services or goods
  • • Personal injury or property damage (except as required by law)
  • • Errors or omissions in AI-generated solutions
  • • Interruptions or delays in service
  • • Unauthorized access to your data

9.2 Cap on Liability

IF WE ARE FOUND LIABLE for any reason, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to your use of Step2Solve shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months prior to the claim.

Since Step2Solve is currently free, this means our maximum liability is $0.00 USD.

9.3 Exceptions

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9.4 Basis of the Bargain

These limitations reflect the allocation of risk between you and us. The Service pricing (currently free) reflects these risk allocations and limitations of liability, which form an essential basis of our agreement.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Step2Solve, its affiliates, licensors, and service providers, and its and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your use or misuse of the Service
  • Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
  • Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
  • Any academic integrity violations or consequences resulting from your use of the Service
  • Any harm caused by your User Input or how you use AI-generated solutions

What this means: If someone sues us because of something you did (e.g., you used Step2Solve to cheat and your school holds us responsible, or you submitted illegal content), you agree to cover our legal costs and any damages we might incur.

11. Termination

11.1 Termination by You

You may stop using Step2Solve at any time. Since we do not currently require accounts, simply discontinuing use constitutes termination.

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification) will remain in effect.

11.4 No Refunds

Since Step2Solve is currently free, no refunds are applicable. If we introduce paid features in the future, refund policies will be clearly stated before purchase.

13.5 Time Limitation

You agree that any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose, or it will be forever barred.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by Step2Solve.
